My daughter is already ready to give up. She lost 0.2 pounds yesterday, but had serious sugar-cravings. Despite her previously stated worry regarding her genetic predisposition to diabetes and heart disease, she claims that she does not want to be on this diet. Of course, she does not have to be. There is plenty of food in the house and she can always eat dinner with my parents or cook for herself if she wants.
Still, I speculate that she will likely pile up on starches at lunch while eating the healthy snacks and dinners I prepare at home. She seems to recognize the soundness of the theories behind a healthy diet, while complaining about the discomfort of resetting her metabolism. The good news is that resetting a metabolism does not take a long time.
My taped-together suitcase |
Good news for this morning is that the swelling in my ankles seems to be down. I am no longer walking on balloons. I think I will still call the massage therapist to see what she can do to help me with the tightness in my leg muscles. Although greatly improved, my right leg still really hurts.
More good news from today is that I found my checkbook and credit card! (Whew.) I had taken them out of my purse on the ship to keep them safe from possible pick pockets, but then could not find them when we got home.
Chili for dinner tonight |
Ah, I have personal appointments today. Tomorrow begins seasonal work at the tax office. I guess I had better get this laundry done. If all goes well with my diet, I plan to have chili for dinner tonight. (Ohh, icky diet food! -- Just kidding.)
