Picking Anne up from school yesterday, I mentioned to her that I am sending out an email "blast" to advertise my 99 cent ebook, The Rumor's Secret (available through Amazon KDP).
No response.
I continued to tell her that I am very excited about the promotion. The last time I sent out an email blast, using the same email advertising company that I am using this time, I sold over 3 thousand books in a single day! In fact, I continued, the deposit for those titles recently was made to my bank account. My teenager's ears perked up at the large number and the mention of money. She asked how much my book sales had made.
"Well, MOST of the ebooks were sold during one of those Amazon KDP Prime "Free book" promotions," I answered.
"Yeah, but how much did you make?" She insisted.
"About $150," I answered.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her nodding her head in impressed approval as she mumbled confirmation, "Not bad."
Then I added, "I spent $200 on the email blast."
"Good going, Mom!" Anne laughed. "You'll be broke in no time!"
No response.
