Another Miracle

Wednesday morning, I had some flyers made up about storyunfolding.net, my newest literary project/blog. Then I spent all morning driving around to a handful of libraries around the County to see if they would post up my flyers. My idea, that my blog readers seem to like pretty well, is to post a story online into blog entries AS I WRITE IT. In additon, I use the functionality of the blog to interact with my readers by asking their input via polls and comments.

So there I was, on Wednesday morning. After visiting the copy store to have my flyers printed on colored paper, I began driving to different libraries around tWaukesha County. It took a couple of hours to drive to only a handful of libraries, all of which told me that I needed to be an official nonprofit organization for them to post my flyers to advertise my website on which is gradually being posted a book. The site is FREE to access. The book being written before the eyes of the audience is available FOR FREE reading. The libraries will not post the flyers.

Frustrated, I decided to go to lunch. I did not know the roads where I was, but I unplugged my Garmin anyway. As I drove down country-like roads, I began to pray.

I have been called to write. It is not a choice. It is a calling. And even though I do not read or even like to read Christian themes, guess what I wind up writing? Yep. And even worse than that, Christian Romance! I am a Fantasy and Science Fiction reader. I have never even read a Romance novel, much less a Christian Romance. But, somehow, my writings all seem to wind up being Christian Romance -- no matter how hard I try to make them into something else!

You should have heard me pray as I drove toward a lunch that I did not know where was. I am called to do this writing. I receive rave reviews from the very few people who read what I write (including five stars from Amazon.com's Reader's Favorite Reviews). I was blessed with the SPECTACULAR idea to involve my audience in my writing by using blog technology and the internet. Yet I cannot find a publisher for my work because I am a no-name author, I have no money to advertise myself, and I cannot even draw readers from libraries by posting my work for FREE because I am not a nonprofit organization!!!

"Lord, I NEED YOUR HELP!!"

It took about two minutes for me to calm down enough to allow an answer to enter my brain. Then I drove to Half Price Books. (As it happens, I was only about a minute away. Coincidence? I think not.) At Half Price Books, I left my flyers and bookmarks in the car as I went inside to talk to somebody about leaving some promotional bookmarks on their counters for people to take for free.

The manager was not at the store, however, a very nice man behind the counter gave me the phone number of the district manager. He encouraged me that the district manager was the person I needed to talk to. It took me until the next morning to drum up the nerve to call the district manager of one of the largest book sellers in the Country, but I did it.

He Said Okay!! Thursday in the early afternoon, I dropped off roughly 1100 book marks to be distributed throughout district-wide stores!

All I have to say on this one is Hallelujah! God is amazingly good!

About what the bookmarks are advertising: I actually began this project a couple of weeks ago.As soon as I started it, my Facebook Fan Page views skyrocketed from about 725 views per week to over 4000 views per week. Because people seemed to really like the idea of reading the story as I write it AND helping to name characters and choose plot directions, I bought a url for the site where I am posting the story. It is http://www.storyunfolding.net/. Please check it out. (Reading directions are in the sidebar, but what they amount to is that the oldest blog posts should be read first. This is kind of upside down for reading a blog, but it is really the only way to write a story.)

The story I am writing is based upon my own observation that there are quite a few "Christians" who seem to feel that they have free license to sin however they please and still be entitled to eternal life because they are saved by the Blood of Jesus. Of course, anybody who is well versed in the Scriptures of the New Testament knows this belief is FALSE. But how to get the message across to those who do not delve into the Scriptures to discover the truth for themselves? The answer is through stories. (Parables?)

So what happens to a person's soul if they die in unrepented mortal sin while believing they are saved?
The answer is in Scripture, of course, but it is also going to be answered before the eyes of my readers as they watch and help me write! The topic at hand is one that threatens many today: Adultery via the vehicle of divorce. (This topic also makes it possible to turn the story into a Romance.)

This is going to be a good one! Keep your eyes on the story and participate at www.storyunfolding.net.
